After running this page for more than a year now and hundreds of emails, atleast 3 a day, I thought I would list the top questions I get in email, and the answers I usually give. These questions comprise the bulk of the email to me from these pages.
Q: "I want to join the club. How do I join and what do I get for it?" or "Please send me some information about your club."
A: I get emailed this question all the time and it is usually from an AOL or MSN user because I posted Jeepster information on those sites before I had the Jeepster Club web pages created. The first place to start is to read the "Intro" page which details the purpose of the club. The next place to look is the "Application" page. You can print this page off, if you have a printer, and mail it in to our club president, Jim Serr at P.O. Box 653, Lincoln, CA 95648. If you can not print off the application, please call Jim at 916-645-8761 and have him send you one in the mail.Your club membership includes a quarterly newsletter that contains information on upcoming trips and events, Jeepster fix-it tips, parts for sale and wanted and a membership list.
Q: "I sent in my application last month, but I haven't received anything yet?" or "My check was cashed, but I haven't got my newsletter, What's the hold-up?"
A: I also get this question a lot. Now remember, our club is a small, all volunteer and non-profit club of a small number of active members compared to most vehicle clubs. The club president, Jim Serr, is the one person who does almost everything. Jim handles the phone inquiries, mail inquiries, new applications, want ads, newsletter articles and newsletter printing. Of course, Jim has a life and sometimes the club and the newsletter are not his main priority and your application may not be processed for several weeks. Please be patient and wait a few more weeks. You can expect to receive your membership packet up to two months after sending in your application. It will get there sooner or later.Q: "I want your newsletter. Please send me one." or "I am interested in getting back issues of your newsletters. How do I get these back isssues?"
A: The first thing I always email people is that they must be club members in order to receive the club's newsletter. I did create a "Newsletter" page that gives you an idea of the content and value of our newsletters. Back issues are available to all club members to purchase for $5.00 each and there are over 27 issues. Call Jim Serr at 916-645-8761 for ordering back issues.Q: "I'd like to know of other Jeepster owners in my area. Do you know of anyone in my area?" or "What other Jeepster clubs are in my area?"
A: With your membership into the American Jeepster club, you will receive a list of our current members sorted by Zip Code. We encourage members to contact other members in their areas in order to help each other and to strengthen the club. The American Jeepster club is a nation-wide (USA) club and there are no other clubs that I know of solely for Jeepster owners. Our members are encouraged to hold their own regional events and meetings and use the newsletter to publish such events.
Q: "Why aren't 1947-1950 Jeepsters allowed to be included in the club? or "Where can I get more information on the early Jeepsters?"
A: Our club is only for Jeepsters from 1967 to 1973 mainly because we are a 4-wheeling club. Most of our events are related to getting off-road and the early Jeepsters (if stock) are not four wheel drive models. We do have several Willys models in the club, but only because our club members own both types. Our feelings have always been that Willys Jeepster owners would be better served by a Willys club. Please contact the West Coast Willys club at 707-864-1333. They have many Willys Jeepsters in their club and can point you in the right direction for your area.Q: "I'd like to join your club, but I live in another country, what can I do?"
A: The American Jeepster club is a nation-wide (USA) club and there are no other International clubs that I know of solely for Jeepster owners. We have stopped taking membership applications from non-USA residents due to banking and mailing constraints. It costs us too much to cash an out-of-US check and also to mail outside the US.Q: "I'd like to purchase the club's decal. Where can I get it and how much is it?"
A:The club's decal is available for purchase by club members for $5.00 each or two for $9.00. Contact Jim Serr at 916-645-8761 for ordering information. The club also has T-shirts and hats for sale as well starting at $8.00.Email Mike Childs at: JEEPSTERMAN@OFF-ROAD.COM for further information.
